Hey,
Have you recently upgraded your computer’s operating system from Windows 7 or earlier version to Windows 8 or Windows 8.1?
Are you facing difficulties in playing games like Counter Strike (1.6, Condition Zero, Source, Global Offensive GO) or NFS(Need for Speed) Most Wanted or other NFS series game with your friends on WLAN/Wi-Fi just because you cannot find option to create Ad-hoc network or Hotspot anymore? There is no reason to worry now. Now you can play Serious Sam, Quake, Unreal Tournament 2004, Red Faction, Quake III Arena, Team Fortress 2, Halo, Warcraft III, Age of Empires Series, Flat Out 2, Left 4 Dead Series and many more with your friends over WLAN/WiFi.
Today, I’ll help you in setting up Counter Strike Server or Need for Speed: Most Wanted server or any other game server on your Windows 8/8.1 so you and your friends can play over WLAN or WiFi.
If you wish to Create Ad-hoc Network on Windows 8/8.1 follow the links given below. Article contains complete guide on Connecting and Creating Adhoc Network (Hotspot) on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1
Connect and Create Adhoc Network in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 to Play Multiplayer Games
If you face any difficulties while going through the tutorial, feel free to comment. I’ll surely help you out. Even I’m a big Counter Strike fan. I don’t want to stop playing multiplayer games because of Microsoft’s Windows 8.1 or Windows 8. I hope they release a fix for same very soon.
Enjoy Gaming!

Just start Left4Dead and go to Multiplayer LAN. Ask your friends to connect to your adhoc and you’ll see their computer there.

Hi There,
We are trying to create a LAN game of CS:GO over an ad hoc wireless connection. We keep getting error messages when one of us tries to join the server saying “failed to connect to game server. this game server restricts clients to connect from internal local area network only”. We are certainly on the same network as we are able to play other LAN games. Any idea what we are doing wrong?
Running game in administrator mode? CS:GO works great here. Running Windows 8.1?
